CEC does not accept unsolicited material. If it is not requested by CEC, or CEC did not ask for it specifically, it will not be responded to. You can however send an inquiry and ask if you can send the material. If you want coverage, please click on the script coverage link provided below and just follow the guidelines. This is different than sending unsolicited material.
Why does your news blog take me to the Cowan Entertainment Company Facebook page?
The news blog takes you to the CEC Facebook page because that is the news blog. All of the latest news regarding productions and other activities of the company will most likely be posted there. The Twitter page will also post updates, and sometimes you will find little nuggets not mentioned on the CEC Facebook page. So visit both, and follow on Twitter!
Has CEC won any achievement awards?
CEC has won several awards. Most recently, a film produced, shot and directed by CEC gained an award of recognition from the California State Senator (go to the Awards page).
When did CEC come about?
CEC began in the mid-90's and has premiered films at film festivals across the USA and on cable. One music video shot and directed by Rennie Cowan aired on BET NETWORK. Some interesting trivia, a THX theatrical spec commercial (check the commercials page) shot and directed by Rennie Cowan was accepted into competition at Skywalker Sound located at Lucas Ranch in 2006. It received a complimentary gift as it was sound mixed in 5.1 Dolby Digital. In 1998, Cowan was one of seven students at Chapman University to win a film school academy award (at that time, the film school had over 500 film students in attendance). In 2012, Cowan had footage she shot placed on WB's Justice League: Doom blu-ray set (supplemental materials).
What are your rates?
CEC is a private contractor and each project is based on and negotiated per contract agreement.
What are your business policies?
CEC holds several business licenses. CEC does not work with those who commit fraud, or other unprofessional conduct which can and will be reported to collection agencies and/or sued in Federal, State or Small Claims Court. Aside from attending and graduating film school, Cowan is also a business school graduate, holding an A.S. in Business Administration (emphasis in marketing), and she is a Doctor of Law with an EJD from Law School (Doctorate in Law).
